Literature Text

The words that
project out are
sugarcoated
with a
smile
and a tiny,
childish
voice.

But inside,
my throat
burns
and my heart
retches and
behind my eyes
I see you
sprawled
on the ground
bleeding out the
words
you can keep to
yourself.
derp derp, I wrote this as a response to some of the less than constructive criticism that some incredibly mature, talented and thoughtful people give out during workshop class. Oh no, they don't say it out loud, they just write stupid things on the papers they pass back to the writer.

It's not as terrible as I make it out to be. The only one that really annoyed me was a comment I got on this poem [link] . But other than that, there was someone in the class who would give you back your paper with nothing on it. On one poem, I got a very well thought out comment "I have no idea what this poem means". One of my friends got a comment on hers that was just "this reminds me of Final Fantasy 9".

And then there was this one very shy girl in my class who stopped submitting altogether because of unconstructive comments she kept getting.

I never really submitted this to workshop because my outward persona is very very very very very very shy and unconfrontational, but I wrote this poem to vent. I submitted it to my porfolio though, ahahah.

This reminds me of FFIX. Just kidding. I hate unconstrucive comments. ^^
